Duffy Jones, DVM

Dr. Duffy Jones is a native of the Atlanta area.  He attended the University of Notre Dame, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree, and later the Tufts University of Veterinary Medicine in Massachusetts, from which he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.  After that, Dr. Jones completed a one-year rotating internship in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and surgery at Georgia Veterinary Specialists.  He worked for 5 years as a staff veterinarian in two hospitals, Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital and South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital, before starting his own practice, Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital, in 2004.

Dr. Jones is the owner and founder of Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital.  He truly believes in the vision of Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital. "We at Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital believe that we can make a positive difference in people's lives by taking extraordinary care of their pets".

 Dr. Jones has held every leadership position at the Georgia Veterinary Medicine Association including industry council liaison, board members, district director, vice president, president, and treasurer.  He was also very involved with VMG (Veterinary Management Group) where the ExComm chair for his group.  He was also an instructor for their CSR boot camp.

Dr. Jones is a co-founder of the dvmSuccess Vet Group. He has been instrumental in developing technology that helps private veterinary owners automate their practices. This has also led to the development of a new marketplace for veterinary practice owners to sell their practices. He saw a need to provide information to practice owners about the selling process, as well as transform the market to provide more transparency. Transparency of the selling process as well as educating practice owners about the process, allows hospital owners to maximize their profits in the transaction.

He is also passionate about mentorship. This is evident from the many veterinarians that he mentors about practice ownership as well as teenagers through coaching soccer at the high school level.  He is the author of numerous articles as well as the book “The Business Side of Veterinary Medicine: What Veterinary Schools Don’t Teach You.  

Dr. Jones was very fortunate to marry the girl next door, Courtney.  They have been blessed with three wonderful children.  The Jones home is currently run by their dog Rosie, who is the princess, and Millie, two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
